I would go with a nice neutral. Deep grey or a black blender.

Now, I'm not a scrappy person but I think a black binding would frame your quilt beautifully. I think black is a wonderful, bold, neutral.

I like a solid binding with a real scrappy quilt - either picking up one color that you LOVE from the quilt, or use a basic black ( which I buy by the bolt because I use so much of it )

Doing the border is my favorite part of quilt making. I do a lot of scrappy little quilts and like using fabric with a design.A check or a fabric with a star.judy j

I love scrappy quilts and I go FULL ON SCRAPPY; no controls. In fact the weirder the individual fabric pairings are the more I like it! I think it helps get me out of my color comfort zone which benefits other projects.

For binding - I save excess binding from other quilts and use those to bind my scrappy quilts, so they are scrappy from edge to edge. It's a big chaotic blast of color and patterns and I love it that way.

I like red or cheddar for binding on scrappy quilts. Never anything light, it shows finger grime too fast

Or lots of times if I have a plain inner border then I make candy cane binding out of the scraps, love it.
It is just scrappy strips stitched together on the diagonal which then looks like candy cane stripes. Really lovely.

I made a very bright scrap quilt recently. The binding will be done with a purple and violet checkered fabric that reads reasonably dark.

I have a bad tendency to go to blue on my scrap quilts, and very thin bindings.

Bonnie Hunter just used a red binding on one of her scrappies. I really liked it.

I use fabrics from the quilt. Not so much as a "candy stripe" binding, but I use a length, say 18" or so, of one fabric, then switch to another one. It ties the quilt colors together.

I like a scrappy binding, especially if there is a solid border on the edge.
