I have used Yellow Brick Road quite a bit for charity quilts. I also use one of the free patterns on Quilt For Kids ALOT for kids charity quilts.

When making a non charity quilt--it is usually a new pattern.

Me too! I've made several and every one was different. It's quick, very forgiving, great for a beginner or anyone who either wants something quick or just likes the look! Love the one in your avatar!

I've also done a few Disappearing 9 patch quilts. Also quick and easy, and you can vary it by adding sashing, laying out on point, etc.

I like to try different patterns. I've made one pattern twice in my entire quilting life and that was only because I was having so much fun making blocks for my first quilt that I made enough for two quilts and a big pillow and gave one to our granddaughter for Christmas. I love a challenge and have made some spectacular patterns!

My "go to" for scrap quilts is log cabin. I have made several over the years, maybe because I always seem to have lots of 1.5 inch or 1 inch strips in my scrap pile.

I like the Disappearing 9 Patch pattern and have made. All looked very different because of different colors.

My two favorites are Carpenter's Star like my avatar and mystery quilt. I've made 3 CS quilts. One was an orange and blue combo (sounds awful but turned out really cute). The green and pink/purple one. This last one is my favorite so far. It is pink polka dots and then scrappy black/white fabrics. If I knew how to post pics from my phone I'd share (0:

I've never made the same quilt twice either - but i have made many different ones using Carpenter's Star and Dresden Plate.

It's a Maple Island Quilts pattern. You will find it on this website:

It's a little easier to see the pattern here:
