I ended up buying a lamp with bad wiring for cheap on ebay and stealing the lens and spring from that. 2 half lamps make one whole! I couldn't find anybody making new ones.
The spring is a round piece of metal with bends in it, so it presses the lens outwards against the lugs that hold it in place. I'm not at home so I can't shoot a picture of it. Without it, I would think the lens would be loose and might vibrate around enough to just fall out.

Glad you found the parts you need. I just ordered an LED bulb for my spotlight. With that bakelite shell and lense that holds the heat in, a cool burning, extra bright LED bulb should be a nice improvement.

I have the lens, but have not been able to find a spring, or even what the spring looks like. I am hoping that if I see a photo I can find a suitable substitute, if I do I can post what works here.
Thanks!!

Then sometimes you get those dinky Xmas tree bulbs which provide no light at all. Festive but useless.
I hate led's for no rational reason whatsoever. I hate seatbelt ads for the same (non)reason, and gluten-free food.
