I am basically a 30's lover because it reminds me of my childhood. I am a lucky person that has slept under a quilt all of my life and can't imagine not. There are so many quilts I love and many I don't. I am not a fan of Civil War quilts or the extreme modern ones but I do see and recognize the beautiful work that goes into them.

Whether on not I dislike the pattern or the fabric, sometime it is hard for me to tell. Different fabrics really make a difference in the overall appeal to me. Even if it isn't my taste, I always appreciate the work the maker put into it.

I HATE Sunbonnet Sue and Sam.
Many years ago they was a web page dedicated to naughty Sam and Sue, It was all quilt blocks I believe. Anybody remember this? it was hilarious

I see many I don't like but that is what makes us all different. If we all liked the same ones it would get boring.

I never met a pattern that couldn't be fixed up by the choice of color. There are some I don't care for, but if we all liked the same thing, this would be a very boring world,

Can you even imagine having a quilting board if we all used the same pattern and fabrics? What would I read with my morning coffee?

Unfortunately, the original site for Bad Sues is gone. But you can google "Bad Sue quilts" or "Naughty Sue quilts" and find them that way. They are also some absolutely fun (and gruesome) Bad Sues on the QB. Reading the comments is always entertaining as some people really get their knickers in a twist .......

Do NOT google "Bad Sue" or you will get a page of porn links! Ask me how I found that out!

The original Sue repeated over and over again in the exact same fabrics bores me to tears.

I love the International, US States, and Calendar Sues. I have a pinterest board with Sunbonnet Sues, naughty Sues, Sue being dispatched with in various ways, and "interesting" Sues mixed in together. It has a warning at the top for those who become hysterical when Sue is messed with.

The only patterns I dislike are some of the "modern" quilts that look like they have zero thoughts or planning put into them. You know the ones I mean. At the same time, there are modern quilts which I do find appealing.

Thank goodness we all have different tastes!

I think it can be any one of the aspects, or an assortment. Colors you don't like, a design style, or as Jan indicated a style you are tired of seeing. I think with a pattern though it may more likely be the design because you could always take a pattern and make it in any color-but if you don't like the color used it could be enough to turn you off to the pattern. Kind of like you don't get a second chance to make a first impression.

I used to love Bargello quilts but now I don't. They make me feel quesy! When looking at quilt patterns the ones that catch my eye are the ones that use fabrics or colors I like. If I don't like a pattern I try to visualize the pattern in other colors and fabrics. Not always easy to do for me.
