Advice needed - batting to use for big & soft & fluffy comforter.

cash_mom and Bree123: thank-you sew much for your constructive ideas. I'm going to try a quilt top as a duvet cover over my comforter. I'm going to take a look at the Cloud Loft batting too.

I stacked four poly high loft batts for my son's comforter. I did quilt it, but I'm not sure which machine I used. Probably not the Elna, so it would have been the Kenmore, which is a high shank machine. Would I do it again? No, but I'd use two.

I should add that this duvet cover is heavier than one with one piece of fabric for the top. At first, it bothered me because it was different, but after a couple weeks I decided it was fine. Now I'm so used to it that one night when I washed it after work and it didn't get dry, the comforter by itself felt way too light!
