June 9 Patch Block Swap Signups
#11
Swappers! I failed to include one important thing in my introductory post. Smells!! I had a problem last time with one package that arrived smelling of cigarette smoke, and another reeking of perfumey fragrance. Both make me ill.... I had to take the packages outside and lay each block out to air for about 12 hours. The open air really does the trick to remove fragrances and smoke. However, I don't want to have to do this again with anyone's package, as handling those blocks gave me a major headache. So... if you plan to prewash your fabric, please do not use dryer sheets or fabric softeners, or anything with fragrance. If your fabric is already prewashed with such, and is perfumey, you will need to lay it outside to "air" for at least 12 hours (flipping the blocks halfway through that time) to get all the smell out of them, before you bag them up. The same goes for smokers... air the blocks before you bag them up. I am very sorry but if I smell these smells through the package, I won't be able to open it. I'll have to return to sender. I'm just not willing to get sick doing this.
I know that other women my age are also sensitive to scents, so everyone will appreciated getting blocks that only smell like fabric. We all like that smell!

I hope I am in time to sign up. These will be easy enough to do because all my strips are on a hanger waiting to be used up. This will clean out some scraps for sure. My goal will be for the full 10 bags.

Ok ladyfriend, I can tell you did not read the entire first post! Just by your questions... Please go back and read it and then sign up by pm, as it says in that post. When you pm me, confirm that you have read the post in it's entirety and that you agree with the rules. We are so glad to have you swapping this time!

Today I played with my scrap strips, only I made a bunch of garlic knot blocks instead of 9 patches. These are fun and I have a new inload of scraps, so I'm trying to use some up. Then I'll go back to the 9Ps... Plenty of time yet.

Since I was gifted an extra set last round, I'm going to sit this round out. I'll wait for the next round to go again. I'm going to lurk and watch all of you having fun with those cute little 9 patches. Meanwhile, I keep seeing different patterns to use these in. I never realized they were so versatile.
