Looking for tips on how to keep from catching the loop of the tie in the seam. I thought this would be easy but it gets caught so the ripper and I are getting well acquainted for no more difficult that this block should be! Anybody with experience to help will be greatly appreciated!

julias b I love what you have started. It makes me think of bow ties and snow balls.
Now I want to make one too.
Emilias Nana...your bow ties are fabulous!

Mindless, this is the best tutorial to actually address how to keep the knot out of the seam! Thank you for that one. Yes, to the pins. Other than this little glitch and figuring out about keeping that knot out of the seam, this is one of the easiest blocks I've ever made that actually looks a bit complicated when finished. Quick and "easy".
While exploring these tutorials, I see there is also a tutorial for making flying geese that are 3D! May have to try that one, too. Thanks, everyone.
