Perhaps when she dumped the panel and fabric on you after you had already given her a kind of "no" you could have said something like "I'm so sorry, but I'm really involved with a large project and don't have time to work on this". You were way too nice IMO.

I thought when she gave you the bag of fabrics and said whatever you come up with is fine with me...that meant she wanted you to design a pattern around her panel. I would have given back her bag of fabrics...with my design ideas for Her to make.

Wow, you did a great job with that panel! I don't know how I would handle that friend, but I think she over - reached in her request...unless Dunster is right and she actually meant you could have it. Fingers crossed that that's it!
