They do surprise you. My DH came home with some fabric from an estate sale and was so proud of himself. It's mostly upholstery fabric and I'm not sure what to do with it, but I thanked him profusely.

    It's the thought that counts!

My hubby and I have been married 8 years. I have two stepsons (both now over 50) who weren't too thrilled when we got married. Last Christmas the oldest (and most disapproving) gave me a gift card to Joanns. Now that really, really surprised me.

Hubbys can be wonderful. Mine stood over me a couple of weeks ago and "forced" me to place the call to buy a Bernina 1230 that was listed on our area internet (sorta like Craigs List).

There must definatly be something in the air... I got up this morning to see an ad out of the Vegas paper on where to order a quilting book. ( This just after we'd had a "heart to heart" discussion about watching how much I spend on my "hobby"). You just never know about them ! Saraq

My hubby encouraged me to buy 30.5 yards of fabric at garage sales today! Then he turned around and bought me an early birthday present.....a beautiful light oak and glass curio cabinet for my rocking horse collection (well part of the collection).

Yes they can surprise us all right. One day I came home from work and my husband had bought me a Janome 10000 which was the newest Janome at the time. Plus he bought a beautiful cabinet to put it in. He called It the "sew master 10,000. I love, love that machine, and my husband even more!

Yes they can do things just out of the BLUE. Mine doesn't understand my quilting, sewing or my machines. But he just paid for the timing to be reset on my Pfaff (had 50% off, but it was still $130.00), because he knows I love sewing. I never knew he was watching how happy it makes me. You just have to LOVE them.
