It came out great, I really like it!!! Hope your hair grows back soon...
Next time either starch the livin POOP outta those diagonal pieces, or try the pattern that opti77tian posted yesterday, it totally changes how the pieces are cut and NO diagonal seams!!

Your block is beautiful! I'm so sorry you had so much trouble with the block. Maybe there's not enough startch in the world to make it work better. LOL!

I made the disappearing pinwheel and that was really easy. Didn't try this one yet. It was suggested that you measure from the middle of the block when cutting these. Like Dunster said, Jenny doesn't go over the finer points of sewing and she doesn't finish the projects, either. She does, however, rely on bias to make things work for her. She has no fear of bias whatsoever.

I did the same thing with a house table runner she showed - nothing lined up and I bought the template too! Your mini looks awesome! Jenny makes it look so easy.

I had the same problem. No matter how careful I was the fact that they are on the bias caused me a lot of headaches

I started out with Jenny's method - 2 finished blocks. Then I discovered this one - tiny bit of trimming to get the HST. Be very careful lining up the diagonal when cutting. I'm very happy with it. I like the straight-of-grain better than the bias. Lots of fun to see the block develop when you start to turn the little squares. I'm using a turquoise batik and cream so I have high contrast.

I love Jenny but she does do a LOT of bias squares!! When ever possible, I go the half square triangles. Can't on the disappearing ones.
