Shampoo for Greying Hair
#22
I know there are several brands of which I cannot remember any but they are purple in colour. I get my from a hair salon supply house. It really brightens the colour (grey that is) makes it look silver.

There are many brands on the market, you will need to see what suits you best. I am in the UK, so some of the brands you mention, I have not seen here. I am totally white/silver, and have been for many years; I started going grey in my early 20s. I say embrace the grey!
I love Aveda Blue Malva, I find it less staining than other purple shampoos, and their conditioner is divine. It is an expensive brand, but a bottle lasts for a year or longer.

I've been using Jhirmack Silver for 6 years or more <giggle> and love that it removes that yellowish tint. Never was a blond and its not time to start. I used to find it at WalMart but some of their locations no longer carry it, so I order it from them online. We seniors gotta stick together.

there are several brands out there but all for "gray" are intended to get rid of the yellowing that white hair gets from air pollution, shampoo build-up, etc. I use mine (have allowed white to show since age 31--30+yrs later it's almost all white)about every other week. Every brand I've used is a dark purple, you leave suds in for about 5 minutes and then rinse--don't worry, these are made not to leave you a purple haired old lady.

Simply Silver shampoo will make gray more vibrant by keeping the yellow tinge out.(which gives graying hair mousey)Don't be freaked out by the purple color of this shampoo, just rinse well. This is kind of like using bluing in the wash with whites.

Wow! We gray haired babes have more choices to stay vibrant that I ever imagined! I was nice to hear from so many who have learned to love their gray. I had no idea so many started to turn gray at younger ages. I get far more compliments on my gray that I ever did with my dark brown. Stand proud, Silver is beautiful!
