Crumb quilt

I'm a little confused... nothing new for me, lol. The blocks with the tree, deer, etc., did you sew those onto the neutral background or did they come that way and you just fussy cut them out? I love making crumb blocks, and I have to agree with maviskw that fat quarters are not crumbs and I would never cut FQs up to make crumbs from them. I have tons enough of crumbs just from making my quilts.

They were fussy cut from the cream prints of the collection. Not sure why the name crumb quilt but idea is that you same number of complimentary fabric as blocks,i.e. 9 blocks would have 9 complimentary fat quarters. It is random in how you sew strips together and then sew to block so it gives you a themed quilt with a crumb look. It is just a different way to cut and sew a quilt block and using fat quarters keeps you from having crumbs leftover.
