2019 UFO Challenge
#371
I look forward to seeing your finish, Oksewglad.
Things aren't going so well for me.
UFO #2 - border fabric stuck in customs.
UFO #3 is a mystery quilt that I began in 2017. It is a medallion quilt. When I placed the blocks out on the floor, I found that I had used the wrong four patches to make the central star. I unpicked it and laid it out with the correct ones and found I preferred it the wrong way. This would mean remaking some other blocks and I don't have enough of one of the fabrics. (It's exploding abstract daisy flower batik.) Not sure what to do now.

Oh frustration!! OK, let's see if we can help. Can you photograph the fabric you need and post it here? Perhaps one of us can help you get that you need from our stash. It is always worth a try. I have no idea of the challenge of getting your fabric from across the waters.

Some awesome finishes! 4 pages since I last posted, did not get my February goal finished. But looking like I might get it completed this month. I convinced DH that with this weekends snow/rain storm (yet another one), that we just do some fun running on Saturday morning before what ever form the storm takes gets here. Then the rest of the day is for projects, surprisingly it worked, yesterday one of our stops was a Goodwill and managed to find a mate to a lamp we found a few years ago minus the shade.
I was able to sew in the afternoon and evening yesterday and today after church. Felt so nice to have my regular machine working again. I managed to piece the memory quilt, it just needs it's borders but I have to buy something for it, I don't have anything right in my stash. Was thinking something dark green? Then quick sandwich and an all-over design for quilting. Can you tell Bill was Scottish and proud of his heritage?

Since the light is starting to fade, I think I will do a little hand work on the forever WIP in front of the TV. DH's GFG it's getting close, I started this somewhere I think in 2012 should be finished 2025?

And wait for the Hot Fudge Sunday cake to come out of the oven!

Showbizgirl, such prettybblocks on both projects.
Oksewglad, such a cute quilt.
Dedemac, I like you forever UFO.
I have 1 set of curtains almost done. Will finish tomorrow. I plan to put binding on 2 of my ufo quilts. Happy sewing everyone.

Pearl40: I hope the border fabric clears customs soon.
oksewglad: Very pretty and congratulations on getting another one done.
sewbizgirl: Very pretty blocks. When I see your close-up pictures, I am wondering if some of my DMIL's fabric and some donations have been feed sacks or yardage of feed sack fabric (per oksewglad's interesting tidbit).
Dedemac: Congratulations on getting the memory quilt center finished. I like your GFG.
No sewing today for me. I helped my son with the necessary 'snow jobs' outside. I told him to tell anyone looking to buy a house not to buy one on a corner. My late husband and I didn't think of that 32 years ago. So much snow/ice pushed onto our driveway bottom. Then I started to rearrange and clean my sewing area. My body is super tired!

RE: Feed sack like fabric
The only way one can verify it is if you see the stitching on the feed sack fabric...then it's feed sack...no stitching, no way to verify...so it's feed sack like...
Gee I'm tired...I hate changing over to DST!

Hi everyone! I'm new to QB, but not to UFOs. I have 7 that are are in some state of progress, from piecing and quilting -- and only one is from earlier this year when I had to chase off winter despair with some soft pastels (which are not normally my thing; desperate times, desperate measures). I have 9 more quilts that I have chosen a pattern and pulled fabric for. I don't count those as UFOs yet, but it would only take a moment of relaxed vigilance to change that.
My oldest current UFO is a improvisationally pieced scrap wool quilt that I started ~20 years ago. I sewed feverishly for three days last week to get the top done and the flannel backing pieced. Now it's too big for any floor space in my house and I'm going to have to find some 8' boards and try board basting at my dining room table. This thing feels like a saga. It has a life of its own! So, not a completion shot, but I feel like I crossed a major milestone yesterday when I finally got the whole top together (and then lopped off 12" because it was too long -- life of its own, I tell ya!).

Another welcome entangled. I like how those bright spots of color liven up your flimsy! What's the quilting plan? With a flannel backing this will be the warmest quilt in the house! Can't wait to see it finished.

Entangled welcome to the thread, this place is great for encouragement. Any decrease in the UFO piles are what we aim for, some times my aim isn't very good! Your quilt looks like it will be nice and warm (are you in upper or lower MI?) and I love the little pops of color!
