What a beautiful keepsake. Blessings to you for finishing it, and to your mom.

I agree - Dunster said it all. You have a beautiful family treasure!

What a beautiul quiltt that your Mom made!! I would skip the borders and bind it in a scrappy binding maybe... what a special gift that you can finish your mos last quilt.

Love that bright blue and purple that's in the quilt. Gorgeous quilt!

It's a lovely quilt. It doesn't really need a border, but if there is left over fabric, you could make a solid or scrappy binding that would look great.

Sorry to hear about your mom. Maybe you can finish it and give it to her, she might remember it then.

So sorry to hear about your Mom's Alzheimers, it must be very difficult for your entire family. I think I would measure the quilt top and see if you can use it as is for a bed quilt, otherwise, I think I would pull one of the colors in the quilt, such as blue or gold, although a border might not be necessary. I'm sure that helps a lot. Not. What a wonderful treasure to find, and finishing it will honor your Mother.

Personally I don't think it needs a border. Calico binding & back of any of the coordinating colors would keep the focus on what wonderful piecing she has done.

What a beautiful quilt. I also would choose a favorite color and border it only if you needed it larger. My mom had Alzheimers also. I wanted to pass on to anyone that your mom doesn't see often. I wrote letters to her. I lived in another state. She would experience joy in getting a letter and would read and re read them over and over. At that moment, she knew I loved her and where I was. I would always reinforce that I was happy, married and had a son. It worked so much better than a telephone call that was soon fogotten.

IMO, it does not need a border unless you want to make it bigger. And a binding in white would suit me, too.

    Cute pattern
