looking for sprinkling top for soda bottle
#31
When I cleaned out my parents home, i found my Mom's 7-Up bottle with the silver top with holes in it. Memories suddenly came back of her sprinkling water on everything then ironing. I kept it and still use it myself from time to time.

I would check in any Amish general store or someplace like that! I am sure that there is some place online that would have this vintage tool. Yes, I said vintage. I uses one when I learned to iron as a child. So... I guess I am vintage too! I am also modern, I use a spray bottle now. Tee- Hee-Hee on us!

I think the spray/mist that comes from the spray bottle works better while ironing than the sprinkling method (which was great for dampening starched items way back when) because the water droplets are smaller

I do remember the sprinkler top for "pop" bottles back when I was a kid, and I remember Mom putting the clothes in a bag and then the refrigerator until she could get to the ironing. Now I use a spray bottle that I picked up at the Dollar Store and it works fine for sprinkling the fabric before ironing and I always have a bottle near my sewing area. I would buy 2 though, as DH "borrowed" my second bottle and guess what ? - he never returned it. Oh well, another trip to the Dollar Store and all the goodies they have there.

I use spray starch and when the bottle is empty, I clean it and refill with water and use it when I am ironing and don't want to use starch. I use the Niagara Non-Aerosol Spray Starch and the container is plastic and gives a very nice mist. I also re-use these containers to put various cleaners in to use around the house. They work very well and I really like the fine mist that comes out. I usually will remove all the plastic "starch" covering and write on the container what type of cleaner is in it.
