I so agree! And my first quilt was also inspired by Eleanor Burns. We quilters definitely owe her a lot of thanks!

Pink & green really compliment each other. You made a wonderful quilt!

It's a lot better than some and typical for a first quilt. You did a great job with the colors. An excellent example of a first quilt.

Technically you did utilize the color wheel when making this, even if you did so unknowingly you obviously had an intuition for color. Red and green are complimentary colors on the color wheel. The peachy pink and light sage green are simply dilutes of red and green so are still complimentary.

I think the first quilts displayed are lovely! My first quilt was about eight inch squares cut with scissors will a cotton twill backing, tied, with the backing brought to the front as a border. It was king sized! I swear that thing weighed a hundred pounds. I don't know what happened to it. I hope a homeless person has it because it will make a swell, warm tent!

My first quilt is from a guild block exchange by 12 members. Each month a member would select the pattern and colors. The next month one would receive 11 blocks, while a added several. I sashed and stitched the blocks together by machine and then hand quilted. It is pretty and I was so proud of my accomplishment but, oh my, the number of points I stitched into the sashing. Don't look too closely. Thank heavens, I have learned from my mistakes and I am still learning.
