What is your favorite part of making the quilt?

It depends on my mood. Some days I really enjoy the process of painstakingly cutting very precisely sized bits of fabrics, other days I can happily piece for hours, sometimes I can't wait to get going on quilting, other days all I want to do is draw and design and play in my stash. All of that is part of why I usually have at LEAST two projects going, in different stages of completion.
I almost never enjoy making the quilt sandwich or sewing on binding. I don't hate either step, but if I had an "assistant", those are a couple tasks I'd be content to delegate. Those two phases tend to be where my projects get hung up for a bit, I'm never eager to do either.
