BTW...I was on Martha's site and I saw this great idea for storing a quilt, or two. They took a thick, wooden drapery rod, painted it to match the wall color and hung it behind the head of the bed. Then, they draped a quilt over it so it looks like a headboard. Here's the pic: http://www.marthastewart.com/274298/...g-ideas#178415

I don't have many quilts that I have finished and kept. Most of my projects are either 1) not finished, 2) not started 3) given away as gifts or 4) in use at home... on the wall, sofa etc. It's a wonderful problem to have, but I am just not there yet and don't anticipate being there for years to come.

That is kinda neat isn't it? You could change the quilt out whenever you want.

I keep mine in closets, on beds, on a rack. But I also have bought some pool noodles (the foam kind) which I have covered with muslin before rolling quilts onto them. If the quilt is wider than the noodle, I have taped (using archival tape) two together and cut them to fit. I have rolled more than one on a noodle, too. Then I have stood them up in a closet. I checked with our state historical society about this, and the registrar/curator said it should not do any damage to the quilts.
