Annaquilts I got the Pm and answered you, but I will also comment here so if anyone else has the same question. The extra blocks can be 6.5, 9.5 or 12.5 in blocks but has to be a star pattern with the cream background and fall fabrics. I know when I do the extra block I just do one that is the same to one of my sets.

No. Sorry. Tardy-pants here. I've located a good amount of cream yardage. I have my eye on some fabrics. Rusty reds, some golds and greens. Nothing is jumping out at me on the star patterns. I drug out three pattern books. Nothing jumps out,....well mayby Dorothy's star. I've got another sunrise quilt almost done, then I wanted to do that MSQC card trick, part of a jelly roll cut for that. Big Master Gardener meeting this afternoon.

At least we don't have bad weather.

I have narrowed down my Star patterns to Shooting Star 2, friendship star variation, Martha Washington Star, Another star. All of these can be found on Quilters Cache. I'm still looking thru my saved websites just to make sure I haven't missed anything.

I usually check out Quilter's Cache too. http://www.quilterscache.com/ For now I have Ohio, friendship ribbon and Saw tooth Star patterns. So there are two more and I might do a variation of 54-40 or fight and I am not sure yet about the last one.

Yes, the only fabric I pulled so far is the cream also. It is a good start as I think I have enough of it for most of the blocks. Maybe today I will pull some of the Star fabric. We still have plenty of time.

Would the Weather Vane quilt block work as a star? I like it as it would display a lot of the star fabric. What do you think? https://www.thespruce.com/weathervan...attern-2820849

In my opinion, yes I think that would qualify as a star block. It's a good one.
