What a beautiful quilt, sorry you had to un-sew portions, but the results are worth it. Great pillow shams as well.

I really didn't use a set pattern. I googled how to make a sham & just kind of followed that. I wanted the star in the center of the sham so I made that first, added some narrow borders (same fabrics as in the quilt) & then just filled in the rest with the same ivory shade. I have to admit I still have to do a little more quilting on them but essentially they are done. Thank you for your kind words.

All I did was enlarge my HST's (pattern called for 6 1/2" squares but I did mine 9 1/2 inches). When I finished the main part of the top, I measured how much more length & width that I needed & added additional borders to fit. It is just slightly larger than a queen size quilt. I have to admit that when I decided to take the top all apart I thought I was a bit looney but not that the set is finished, I am so happy that I made my decision. If I hadn`t taken it apart I am sure it would have ended up as an eternal UFO or in the scrap heap. Because I changed colours I then had to recut all the squares that did not have the light blue in them to match the new ones. Lots of work but so worth the effort. Never give up on a project if you are sure of what it is you want. It can be done. All it took was more time & a bit more fabric (which I already had in my stash). I appreciate your positive comments.

It is a very striking quilt. Your quilting enhances the design too. Nice work!
