I was just thinking you could use (maybe) the TOPS of plastic containers (clean ones) like is on margarine, cottege cheese, etc...anything this is clean plastic...the plastic that is on the bacon package(wash, of course)..I am always trying to come up with ways to save $$ (so I can buy more fabric, right?_

I was thinking all of the templates would be think plastic like the rulers. I went the store today and saw a few of the templates...very thin plastic...I am like are you kidding me...and for the price they wanted...I will make my own.

I bet the library would have a book with templates that you could copy/trace from for those who want to save on paper.

Thanks for the great tutorial. I'm just beginning to gather my materials to make my Farmers Wife quilt and I will be making it the same as you....it will be my "smell the roses" quilt.
I have used the sides of a washed plastic milk jug to make templates. It is just the right thickness and you can see through it.
