Finished adding the flying geese today. I continue to be amazed by how much the quilt changed looks by adding the final border. I think the geese bring out the greens and yellows. (not sure why the second picture rotated - lighting is different as well). Now, off to be quilted.

    Stitches- that is gorgeous!
When I clicked on the pics they were both upright. Mine do that too sometimes. No idea why.
    I love your colors!

Stitches, your quilt is so unique, I really like the colors and the geese really set it off.

Stitches - your quilts are beautiful! I got the Geese borders on my quilt today too. I am always amazed how everything fits together so nicely. I did not need to adjust my borders at all, they fit perfectly! Yay!!! I got a floral fabric from Quilted Twins that I think will be great for another border. I'll get a picture for you soon!

That looks smashing, Stitches! You're right about how much the look changes with the addition of another element. Very cool.

SuzSLo, please post a picture of your quilt - with or without your border options. I think the skinny garnet border you mentioned in post #939 will look great. I have a skinny blue/green border between the navy and the geese (although it's difficult to see in the previous quilt pictures, I like the added color. It brings more cohesiveness to the quilt.

I’m enjoying seeing all the finished tops. I have not been sewing lately. Just busy with life.

I did get all of my steps 1& 2 all squared. I’m 1/2 way done with parts 3 & 4. This mystery has reenforced my thinking I don’t care to do h.our glass blocks. I think I’m slower on these b/c I used her ruler method when cutting. Which I really like to do. My goals this weekend to finish parts 3 through 6. Then next week try to complete the top. I’m debating if I want to enlarge the sashing width to 2” cut for the center sashing and cut the outside sashing to 2.5” cut sashing. I will be using 2 different aqua fabrics to complete that step. I’m trying to enlarge the top just a little. By doing this I think my last border (which I plan to add, not part of Bonnie’s pattern), will not be as wide I’m thinking of 4.5” top and bottom and sides will be 6.5” borders. I will make that decision when I get there.

FYI, this is VQW, should start tomorrow unless she starts late tonight.
