Paris Texas 1931 Friendship Quilt Top.......
I have had this quilt top for many years, and bought it at an antique store in Paris, Texas..... from a dealer. I'm hoping that somebody will recognize the names on it..
It is handpieced and put together by machine.
These are the names embroidered on the blocks. My spelling might not be accurate, as some are hard to read.
Eliz Julian

Aunt Vivian
Tommie Siddle 1931
Inell Killingsworth

If you know of any of these folks still around Paris, I would love to hear from them. Thanks for all help!

Paris France, or Paris, somewhere in the US?
Sorry, just reread your heading.
How about phone books, some of the older folks still insist on having land phones, and some still might live in the same town.
Have you tried Googling those names? Or, considering that most of these people would most likely be gone, how about death notices? Or even googling them, some might be still around. Considering that in 1931 they might be as young as 18, might be here and still remember that quilt.
Let us know what you find out. I'm wondering myself about this.
An interesting piece of history.

As a genealogist, I have to say.... that is AWESOME!!!! I do hope you find someone listed there or a family member. Check rootsweb.com under the section for mailing lists. If there's one for that area of TX, join the list and post the info there. You can't post the pictures, but you might have success in finding someone who is researching those families. Good luck!

What a treasure. Hope you find someone who knows those people. Just a thought, but it may not have originated in Paris, Texas. Maybe someone brought it there from another part of the country. I'm thinking that maybe it was made to celebrate a birthday or anniversary.

Hi, Brenda. Marc says he knows folks by the last names, Mcneal and Woods...he is unsure if they are descendents. My sister-in-law and her husband still live in paris. I will see if they recognize any of the names/families
