Have you been camping in the woods and have an encounter with a bear?, out picking berries and see a deer?, gone fly-fishing in a mountain stream, found a remote cabin while on a hike?, canoeing on a secluded lake, see an elk in a meadow, pick wildflowers?
In this swap, use "fairly realistic" colors for the block subjects. Such as a brownish deer-not a neon orange one.
Swap blocks in sets of 6. All 6 will be swapped, so make an extra for yourself, if desired.
Limit of 5 sets (30 blocks) per swapper.
Limit of 2 sets of any one design. This keeps things interesting!
Blocks can be any size divisible by 3", plus seam allowances. Smallest is 3.5"x3.5". Limit of 1 set of 3.5" blocks to keep things fair.
Plain fabrics (just cut) will not count toward your block sets. These are a nice extra, and much appreciated. :)
*An optional twist: to do 1 set (or more) of blocks with some traditional piecing. Not a requirement, just a suggestion.
Dimensional embellishments: Please put them in a baggie to be with the block to be added later. This makes it easier to do the quilting.
Please check blocks before sending to ensure the following:
*Use pre-washed 100% cotton fabrics.
*Seam allowances should be 1/4". Blocks to be constructed to survive machine washing and drying.
*Measure carefully to ensure blocks are a correct size.
*All applique blocks MUST have all pieces sewn down in some manner.
This swap is open to all experience levels.
Please understand that I will have no choice but to return blocks that are not a right size, or not constructed to survive machine washing and drying, or other issues.
Your blocks should be mailed to me in a ziploc baggie inside an envelope, with your name and board name on EACH individual block. You need to include postage stamps only (or cash) for a Flat Rate envelope for me to send your return blocks. NO pre-printed labels!
Please send me a PM with any questions or concerns.
International folks need to send adequate $ to pay for postage.
Sign up deadline is Nov. 1st, 2011. Please sign up when your blocks are ready to mail. "Mail to me" deadline is Nov. 15th, 2011. I will swap and mail return blocks by Nov. 30th, 2011.
All general rules for swaps are here: http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-20154-1.htm.

I happen to have some blocks aready made in the woodland designs that I made up. I would like to sign up for this one. Will do the other three and have them ready for you. This would be a nice swap. Love the outdoors theme and my house is full of it. Husband enjoys these kinds of quilts. I may even dig out my fish blocks I have already drawn, just have to put on fabric and applique on.
