Farmer's Wife Sampler (FWS) Quilted by Feline Fanatic
Whew! I am physically and mentally exhausted after this one! My friend, Meg, pieced this FWS quilt. She is a fairly new quilter. She has only been quilting a couple of years and has tackled some seriously difficult quilts! This was her first attempt at paper piecing too. Due to a few issues, I had to quilt this fairly heavily, but all in all, Meg did a fantastic job on this. Those of you who have done a FWS know there are some wickedly tiny pieces in this quilt.
I quilted each block differently, hence my mental exhaustion. It takes a lot of standing and staring to come up with a different idea that compliments each block. while trying to keep the quilting density evenly distributed! Some blocks I took my cue from the fabric but most I tried to compliment the piecing. There is loads of ruler work, SID, and free hand fills and motifs on this quilt. I did a lot of continuous curves too. Not too much marking in the blocks but I did section off the border and mark my feather spine and the center line for the feather sprays in the setting triangles.
All my work is hand guided, no computer. I quilt on an Innova 26" longarm. This was done with Superior Highlights thread on the top and Superior superbob, prewound bobbins in a light beige color. The batting is fairfield 80/20
