Default "Spike Your English" Block of the Month Quilt-Along

    Mark your calenders,

A new 'SYE" Quiltalong will be starting September 3, 2013

On this quiltalong we'll be making a total of twelve 16" x 14" rectangular blocks.

Two a month with the exception of December. all of these blocks are paperpieced.

This is sort of a mystery as we don't know the layout for the quilt.

The patterns for these blocks can be downloaded "free" from www.quiltingonthesquare.com.
Blocks April thru August are posted in their BOM section.
Permission has been given from the website.

This is for all levels of sewing...no sign up, Do it at your own pace.
Lots of support & fun with this group.
Come take a look..better yet..join us in this new venture !

Startng September 3, 2013, there will be a new thread every month where we will discuss our progress & post the photos of the blocks that will be assigned for that month.
Please do not post any photos of blocks that are not assigned for that month.

Until the official start of this journey on Sept 3, 2013 we will all communicate in this thread.
Please, no posting of additional threads related to this by anyone other than myself...It becomes to confusing for anyone trying to find the correct thread..

I believe I've covered all "bases" and it's time to begin our journey...Honchey

Moderator ETA: The copyright owner has given permission for the copyright patterns to be published in this BOM on the QB.

Thanks Honchey ... for taking up the task of being the fearless leader, yet again!

Akweiland ... atta girl! That's the way I learned how to PP, I found something I wanted to do and jumped right in. If you want to practice, I started with the basic instructions here ...
    http://www.quilterscache.com/StartQu...tingthree.html
And then practiced with these ...
    http://www.quilterscache.com/B/Blank...latesPage.html
Then jumped right into the main project, my Farmer's Wife Sampler quilt!

Wow Carrie, you're fast! I didn't even look for fabric. I saw yours in the other thread, I love your choice! I'm having so many projects going right now, I just might have to go on an FART for this one

I'm in!! Yinz got me hooked on paperpiecing so I can't pass this up. I love how the blocks are an odd size; I may not make another large quilt but I think they'd make beautiful bed runners, table runners, wall hangings, etc.

Thank you, Ms. Honchey for leading us on another ride--look forward to it!

CarrieM ... maybe you'd like to post your fabrics for everyone to see?

I have no clue what fabrics I am going to go with ... I keep changing my mind as to colours!
