Chickens in my sewing studio
I converted my guest room into my studio. I understand that the difference between a sewing room and a studio is you can leave your studio as is. A sewing room is usually the kitchen table and has to be put away. I love having a studio. I can close the door, crank up the music and be transported. I can also creep in early in the morning and sew in my Jammie's, the best way to sew. The room was this neat for about an afternoon. It clearly has developed it's own disaster zone now.
My chickens have a story. I took a class with a friend and we ended up having a spat with the instructor. She said to make it our own, so I did, I did not make flying geese borders, as I did not like them. She ended up scolding me in front of the class for not trying a new technique. My friend and I looked at each other and without a word, we both packed up our stuff and left. That was very satisfying and I laugh about it now. Anyway, I still like my chicken quilt, without the flying geese.

I love your chickens and think that you were right not to use a flying geese border. I think the flying geese would have made it too busy and diverted our gaze from the chickens. Thank you for sharing.

love that quilt! scolding you! shame on her! to sew is to create and express ones individual tastes. personally i think flying geese SUCK i can NEVER get them right they are entirely sooooo simple and yet they always ALWAYS come out smaller than they should so i use HST's! live free as a bird

I love your flying chickens! And thank you for explaining the difference between a studio and a sewing room. Who knew? Now I understand that I have a studio, because I certainly don't keep it neat and clean. (And I don't shut the door either, or I might not hear it when it calls to me.)
