A Scrappy quilt
I pieced these blocks on phone book pages, squared them up and cut in half. Small border also done this way. I love making scrappy quilts.

Scrappy is the best! This quilt is wonderful. I love looking at all the different fabrics. I'd rather dig in the crumb bin than cut yardage any day!

I like your original idea. Just goes to show anyone can design and not always need a pattern. Very pretty.
