1930s Quilt
I just finnished this adorable baby quilt for a lovely mom and her baby girl born this Summer. It is made of all kinds of 1930 reproduction scraps I still had on hand. I am very happy how it came out. I used older pink dot fabric, I received in a hand me down box, on the back. I really like using up and finding a home for the fabric that has been sitting there even though it is perfectly good. It went so well with the rest of the quilt. It is hard to let this one go but I know the mommy will be thrilled and the quilt put to good use. Quilted by me on my Janome 6500. I used Anita Grossman Solomon's techniques for making the square in a square blocks.
Here is the tute for the square in a square.

It is and I have made several quilts using this method but this is the first 1930 reproduction print one. I liked this one so much, I already cut out another stack of blocks to make a similar quilt. Pitifully enough I do not have any more of that wonderful pink fabric for the back and binding or any more of the green border fabric. I will just have to find something else. That is part of the fun.
I hope, this being a scrappy baby quilt, it will go along with most of the baby girl's outfits.
