I may be crazy. Rustbucket June
This haunted me for about a month. I finally dragged it home. The only thing I know is missing is the flat thread tension plate. This one will challenge my patience and skill. Don't be expecting an "after" shot soon. June went out of business in 1890

but hey, it has a shuttle...woo hooo.

Oh my gosh, yes you're crazy! That is far more rust than I would want to tackle.
Yesterday on my walk around town I saw three sewing machines sitting in three different backyards. One was a White about that rusty.

Your June might be worse than the Brunswick/National Massey850's terrible grandmother threw out in the back yard decades ago. Very impressive restorations if they turn out to stitch again. They need wooden bases or treadle irons too. Sometimes I wonder why we do these things. 1890? Maybe 15 liter container of evaporust or something like that.

Because of the possible harsh effects on teeth the took out phosphoric acid in colas a couple of years ago, it's not as effective as it once was. People are still cleaning toilets with it though. The best rust removers are very good, I think most large hard ware type stores have an alternative. I have never had anything this rusty to get shiny again though. I have been looking for something that works and I can fill a big container with. If acids are used it needs to be rinsed off, even given a baking soda bath after. It can cause harm later on if not. The way we fuzz with quality lubricant, they once made a big point that machine oil had to be acid free. I'm noting down good rust removal products, and I know at least two of the more known brands are good.
