Default Anyone been to Zinck's Fabric Outlet in Ligonier, IN lately?

I'm itchin' for a road trip. I found a really old thread about Zinck's and was wondering if it was worth the drive to the Indiana store. I understand there are other quilt shops in the area too.

Has anyone been there lately? Comments appreciate.

    Thanks!

It is worth the drive in my opinion. They have great pricing, lots of quilting fabrics. My favorite finds are in the flat folds. There is a wide range of quality there, I go by the "feel" to decide. Since it is near the Amish, they have a lot of clothing fabric too. Lots of flannel, and minky or cuddle, You won't find complete lines of the latest fabric releases but I think you will enjoy it.
Also consider visiting I Sell Fabric on the north side of Shipshewana, Yoder's and Lolly's in Shipshe, and Carolines Cottage in Rome City if you have the time.

Take a minute to find my post on this site for 3 girls visit quilt shops in Shipshewana area. I forget how many we did, but it took us 3 days. My favorite is the one in Renttown, second favorite is the one at Essenhause. I also like I sell fabric which is North of Ship. The owner is a hoot. Caroline's in Rome City is really good too. Lolly's and Yoders are huge and those two alone make the trip necessary. Essenhaus and Renttown have my taste in fabric. You asked about Zincks. They have very good prices on backing.

I forget what I called the thread. Ask QuiltingVagabond. She drove.

And Harriet Carpananini is going to be at Essenhaus in the fall. Bonnie Hunter in Ship later in the fall. I'm in the Sunday class. Fabric Utopia was supposed to move toward Goshen.

I'd be glad to answer other questions.

Here's a link to Battle Axe's recount of the shopping trip that she and I and another quilting friend did back in April. What fun we had! 14 shops!

You may want to call them and make sure of the address because the business card we used has the wrong address.

Recent update: Spectors in Shipshewana--closed. Emmatown Fabrics in the old Lambright Woodworking Factory--closed. (sniff, sniff.) Janett's in Wakarusa: closed. Meredith's in Goshen--closed. But partially reopened in Shipshewana as Cotton Corner (Bernina dealer, etc. ) in the same building as Yoder's Department Store.

Fabric Utopia now at 2700 W.Wilden in Goshen.

Essenhaus Fabrics and Quilting store now in new place but still on Essenhaus campus. Within walking distance of where it used to be.

I am a Michigander but travel to Shipshewana every couple of months, I will make a side trip to Ligonere on my next trip. I also like the little shop in Middlebury that I can never remember the name of. (Right down town, west side of the road about 1/2 block from the corner.) But if you are looking for a w-i-d-e selection of batiks, go to Cotton Corner, in the Yoder building in Shipshewana. Oh, my goodness so much to choose from.

Have fun in our little quilting heaven. I really feel spoiled living so close to so many beautiful shops.

I love Shipshewana and all those stores. Another one in that area is Lavender Patch in Bristol. It is one of my favorites.
