Actually, I have no idea what they are. I've only eaten them once and I thought they were gross, although I love cheese. Several local fast food places her serve fried cheese curds. That's how I knew it was Cheese Curd Day and thought it was funny. Hopefully some other Cheesehead will tell us. LOL!

I love cheese curds. Cheese curds are when the cheese forms curds and instead of pressing them in blocks ( removes moisture) , they are left unpressed. They have more moisture then block cheese and are a little chewier and sometimes squeak as you chew them.

Living across from Wisconsin...we would frequently do a road trip and a lot of times, cheese curds was on the menu...we would stop and pick up a fresh package and happily munch on them as we continued our adventure...those and smoked white fish freshly caught and smoked!
