Tin Lizzie skipped stitches
Just purchased a used Tin Lizzie 18 on a phoenix frame and she hates me. She skips stitches when going backwards. I have rethreaded her, changed the needle, cleaned the encoder wheels and track. Unplugged and restarted. I知 leaning to an issue with the encoder but at this point I知 ready for suggestions.

MY kitten when I first brought her inside as she was a feral kitty thought my quilt frame was her personal bed too. Now when I have a top attached I have to lay my extra red snappers along the back side, keep the machine at one end and put something large on the rolling cart on the other end to block her from getting on top. She's pulled my top off too many times in the past and now she's full grown. The other day while I was quilting I felt something touching my leg and sure enough she was under the frame on top of the rolling carts I have on the front side and laying on the rolled up batting. I chased her off so now I'm hoping she's gotten the idea she's not allowed. Every night when I'm finished I pull the rolled batting over on top the quilt top and throw a sheet over all of it. So far so good but every morning I check to see if she disturbed anything. I don't have doors on the room so I shut it up at night.

I may have to try a few of these tricks. Currently my solution is just to move her and use a lint roller where she was sleeping. Of course the top I’m working on isn’t one I care a lot about. I originally made it with my brother in mind, but the more I pieced it the more it reminded me of a kids quilt. I finished it anyway and it sat in my UFO box for two years before I figured out the colors (red and blue) remind me of Superman. I pulled it out to use as my first long arm quilting experiment. I’m now having a lot of tension problems. I think my quilt is too tight.
