My 9 year old has two teachers, and both of them had babies this year. His regular teacher had a girl and his SPED teacher had a boy right before Christmas. I finished the quilting on the boy quilt today. Now it needs bound and have the label slapped on. He's not ever asked me to do anything before, so I was definitely up for the job. I named them "....and everything nice" and "....and puppy dog tails".

This was attempt 2 and 3 at FMQ. I am actually fairly happy with how they turned out, but my machine is DEFINITELY too small to attempt it again. The girl quilt is 30 x 40. but the boy quilt is 45 x 60 and too much for my little Janome. I quilted hearts and stars in the girl quilt, and just stars in the boy quilt because they are SOOOOO much easier. So there is a star in each large blue patch, and an overall scribble/stipple wavy thing going on for the overall affect.

These quilts are special for my little boy, and I've had a lot of fun doing them. I like the pattern so much more using just 4" strips instead of bigger ones when I did the twin size.

Those are both wonderful quilts. Your sons teachers are going to love them. Great backing on the boys quilt. Great job on both and thanks for sharing.
