    There are now 65 confirmed dead and still many trapped in buildings. Some wont be rescued till tomorrow morning as there is very little power in the city, so no way of lighting the buildings

    I just saw it on TV. My heart jumped. Hope our quilting friends and their loved ones are OK. It was so sad to see the cathedral destroyed.

    I have been glued to the net all afternoon while I should have been working.

    Its horrible! My bestie from CHCH (now living in Sydney) is frantic to hear that her family is okay. I just feel like bawling :(
    and the new keeps getting worse.

    Sending love across the ditch to our Kiwi cousins.

    Oh! This is so devastating!! My friends only got back from there last week! Her daughter,SIL and grandchildren live there! Our prayers to everyone involved!

    My dd just rang her girlfriend and there family is safe thank God..my prayers go out to all New Zealanders in Christchurch and surrounds.

    OMG. I don't have TV at the moment what a shock to see it on the QB. I do hope there are no more casualties. to all our QB friends over there I hope and pray you are all OK.
