How to bind quilt -= follow up

I cut my binding strips 2 1/4 in wide. If you want a wider binding, trim your batting and backing 1/2 in instead of 1/4 in and you can use a larger binding such as 2 1/2in. Hope that helps someone.

Backing, batting, and quilt top

Where to place ruler for cutting

Leaving 1/4 in. of batting

Pin binding to top of quilt. leaving batting exposed, stitch and fold over to back and stitch

Other method, stitch binding to back of quilt fold over to the front

Finish binding by top stitching with machine.

Thanks so much for your instructions. The books leave out a lot of detail. I appreciate the pics that show to cut the batting .25" beyond the border. I have read that the binding is supposed to be filled with the batting...and this is how it's done!
