and yet with all these "rules" that we break, we quilters try to say that quilting is relaxing to us, or gives us calm from the daily stresses.
Who are we kidding? To read all these you sure wouldn't think it is stress relief!! hehehehe

Thanks for the chuckles -- unfortunately I was not laughing when I did many of these. Here are a few more:
Thou shalt not wash water soluble fusible batting before it is in the quilt.
Thou shalt not iron wrinkles out of fusible batting without an applique sheet on BOTH sides.
Thou shalt not leave the blade of the rotary cutter sticking out when sweeping threads off of the cutting mat around the rotary cutter.
Thou shalt not use your finger to clean the lint from off of the edge of the rotary cutter.

Thou shall not lay loose straight pins on the quilt top while pinning on boarders lest ye forget and flip the quilt top to straighten out wrinkles. It maketh a beautiful tinkling sound as the pins fly towards the heavens and then scatter on the floor, but maketh it hard to move about when you are barefoot.
