I could not make perfect half triangles until I purchased this ruler. Elenor Burns uses this ruler in her "Underground Railroad" quilt book. I bought the ruler at my LQS, however here is a link.

here is the link to it http://www.quiltknit.com/RU295-TRIAN...AY_p_2519.html

That is a wonderful ruler!! A lot quicker than pressing it open and then squaring up. I think this one is a must have. Thanks for sharing!!!

They are on sale at Ms. Burns site for $8, normally $11.50.

    Hi Sherrie,
I used to hate HST too. Try Thangles, they work really well. I did the $1.00 Block A Month through LQS, and by the time I was done, I loved them.
Then I did a quilt with hundreds of HST. Bought a software (pretty cheap, maybe $25-$30?) called Triangulations. Can do any size. Great for when I need more than a couple HST's. Also does QST. You take 2 large pieces of fabric, right sides together, and sew on the lines. Diagonally, vertically, and then cut on horizontal lines, you end up with lots!!

Someone else on this site mentioned this ruler and I looked at it at Joannes ($14.98), but couldn't see the directions on how to use it and didn't want to open the pkg. Thanks for the pictures and directions. I will now run right out and use a 50% off coupon at Joannes to buy this very useful ruler. Thanks so much for the pictures.
