What a beautiful quilt! I think I'd do something solid for the borders, maybe dark.

I also made a kaleidoscope quilt early on. It was for a guild challenge where we had several pieces of fabric that had to be used in the quilt. I made up my own border scheme. This is the quilt top before quilting; perhaps you will like this idea. I think it makes a nice frame around the quilt.

newestnana I think the colors for the borders you thought of using would be the best choice.

Wow, yours is really beautiful, and very interesting!!!!! There were border schemes similar to yours as part of the pattern, but I had to make a decision early on (before I had any idea what the top would look like) to do it and elected the all over pattern instead. Still, I'll think about how to incorporate your ideas. Thank you for sharing.

I've been playing with my EQ6 software that I got for Christmas...a perfect tool for seeing what different borders would look like. Here are a couple of versions (of many I've produced). Which do you like...and what should I add or delete?

I like the 1st one. The others are too busy and take away from the quilt.

    Isn't EQ fun!

Beautiful job! Whatever you decide, preview it and take a pic so you can compare the different looks on your puter. My taste would lean toward a first border 1" wide (finished) of one of your dark colors, green or blue. I think I'd try and keep the second border simple as you have a lot of movement going on in the quilt. Perhaps use the quilt's scraps and make flying geese flying horizontally, or continuous half square triangle strips. Then bind with the same fabric as the first border. Alternately, keep the first border very simple and then bind with scraps of the leftover fabrics.
Here are 3 pics that may give you an idea

Do you have any extra blocks left over? You may try to bring some out in to the border alternating with the plain color. There are some great ideas in the One Block Wonder quilt books or do a search for images on the web. Beautiful quilt!
