My MIL gave me this quilt years ago before I was interested in doing it myself. Unfortunantly I did not ask all the questions that I would now know to ask. It would be nice to at least know the pattern. It is all hand done. She did tell me when she gave it to me that she helped her aunt make it. MIL would have been 91 now so it was made a while ago.

    Thanks for the help!

I don't recognize it, but I like it! Where did you find it?

Cruising thru' Quilter's Cache, I found some similar blocks. One is "Our Country" (http://www.quilterscache.com/O/OurCountryBlock.html)
and the other is "Cross & Crown" (http://www.quilterscache.com/C/CrossandCrownBlock.html).

I thought it might be something like 'Crown of Thorns', but, at least on the Cache, I wasn't even close!

It's a beautiful quilt! Enjoy it
    :D

I have had this in my closet for about 15 years.
It must have been made in the 1920-30.
MIL helped make it before she married.
There are a few more at her house that I would like to rescue too....

This is very similar to a block I found called The Crow Foot, here is the link. :)

According to The Standard book of Quilt Making and Collecting by Marguerite Ickis, it's called the Devil's Claws.

It looks like a bearpaw block with another type block in the middle. I love it.
