Buttercup Bag - free pattern and pictures
#1
Hi everyone,
I had posted this in the links section before but thought I would add it in over here as I have finished 2 of them and have photos.
Here is a link to this really cute bag pattern - which is free!!

The first photo of the grey bag is my first attempt. Cute, but the bag is very small - like an evening bag. Just enough room for some cash, credit card, phone and lipstick. If you have a really small wallet, this might work for you too.
So I enlarged the pattern pieces to 125% and made the 2nd bag, which is definitely big enough for a day to day purse.
These are so fast to make. The first one took 2 hrs, the 2nd one only took 1 hr 15 minutes as I knew what I was doing.

I was reading the link earlier and that's the bag that I bookmarked for later! I guess great minds think alike!! You did a great job on both & thanks for the tip about enlarging for an everyday purse.

One more thing ... I would really recommend interfacing the bag exterior, the strap and the upper band. It doesn't say to in the instructions but I think it would be beneficial for a more durable bag. Even light or medium weight interfacing would do the trick.
