I love doing this technique, and wondered if you thought it would be something I could work into a "business"? I take a photo, and make it into a stained glass type pattern. What do you think would be a good charge for a finished pattern, and what would be a good charge if I custom made the pattern (not making the quilt, just the pattern from customer's photo)?

Below are the original photo and the finished quilt.

I have 5 seniors in church this year, so am getting started early.

I think it's perfect the way it is. You may want to make them using their favorite color. What a creative keepsake for a graduate.

Great idea!! I wouldn't really know what you could charge for the pattern, how long would it take you to make? You'd want to be sure your price included a decent hourly wage plus overhead. The problem with custom patterns is since you can't crank them out, they will end up costing more.

    Very nice quilt BTW!! :)

It takes me about 2 hours to get it where I am happy with it. It takes a fair amount of paper to draw it up.

I thought if they bought one already done, maybe a set price ($8-$15???) and if it was a custom one, $40-$50???

Does that sound too high? Too low, and I will be working for nothing?

I actually think your pricing is just right for the time it takes. You just have to be confident in it yourself, if you think it's too much, your customers will talk you down. Your time is worth something, if it takes you 2 hours to make a pattern, then $30 to $40 is a good hourly wage for you. There are people that will pay it, your job is to find them! :)

    Good luck!

Beautiful quilt! Good looking kid. Reminds me of the singer Mac Davis.

Wow, that is so cool. I would have no idea what to charge for that.
