I have been dying to see people from the local area on the board! This sounds like fun. I am in Shirley, MA. I will check with DH and get back to you. I hope more people from MA will join in! Candlelite Quilts is not far from me.

If you're that close to Massachusetts, you really should consider visiting...

Tell us more please! How long has it been open? Have you shopped there? Is it quilting fabric or clothing fabric? What is the selection like?

It isn't officially open till Sept. 10. What I saw was mainly clothing fabric, but they were just starting to stock. My girlfriend was there recently and she said that they had some wonderful fabrics, I hope to revisit soon.

[quote=JenniePenny]Sounds like the full shop list is ambitious for this first go-around. Maybe let's do two events for the two groups! Here's what I propose:

Group 1: maybe Concord (Golden Gese Shop) and Henniker and lunch
Group 2: Salem, Pelham, Kingston and lunch

If you do split to two groups I'd go with Group 1, hooking up in Henniker.

I'll be in group 2, and will try to start at the start in chelmsford with everyone. If anyone is coming from my area we can carpool. I am in rindge rt 119 and 202 pm me. Meet up at walmart/hannaford rt 202.
Shopping will be fun but meeting everyone will be my purpose of coming.
I am flexible so can do whatever is agreed upon. Love the idea of doing a trip in the spring to another area. maybe to the northeast next time then to the north west, then to the southwest. that brings more members, more friends out to meet.

Ooooh, ooooh, I want to come, too!! I'm going on a retreat two weeks later at the Cape, so I need to check with hubby to be sure we can afford for me to do both as times are tough in this economy. Please put me down for a question mark. :D

Would you believe it's only three weeks until our NE shop hop?!! I've been thinking about the various suggestions made about shops to visit and, perhaps splitting them up by area (north , west, ...).

Seems to me it's a bit hard to decide such things where our group is so dispersed. Would it make sense to create a list of shops for 2 - 3 "areas" and, after we meet in Chelmsford at Candlelite Quilts, then decide who wants to go where? I can make maps, so that's no problem. For those who plan on meeting along the way, we can give them a call when set out for the shop they're interested in.

    What do you think?

Oh, and nearby Quilted Threads in Hennniker is the Apple Tree shop in Hillsboro.
