log cabins

I love log cabin quilts.
when I first started quilting I knew I would never make a quilt with those little 1 inch pieces, so I paid some one to make a log cabin quilt for me. I paid for fabrics and paid her $300. to make my quilt. When I finally got the quilt, it was a quilt in a day with 2&1/2 inch strips, furrows pattern ,and it was tied! NOT at all the picture I had in my head. It was also the last quilt I had anyone else make for me, LOL
To date so far I think I have made more than 25 log cabin quilts, and I really do love them! Think it is getting time to make another one, just trying to decide what kind I want to make this time.
Here are just a few of my log cabins:

Every one is a work of art! It's amazing that the same basic block made with different fabrics and colors can be combined in ways that make totally different looking quilts. As for your switching from log cabins to something else, just remember that old saying, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." lol
