I bought a book of Home Decorating Samples at an estate sale and posted this thread http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-61749-1.htm

I was mainly concerned that although they were 100% cotton they were dryclean only. I washed them normally and they came out fine. They're the thick material used in home dec. and I thought they'd fray nicely and make a good rag quilt.

I think it came out nice. I used my Accuquilt Studio and rag die and cut up to 8 layers at one time, making it very quick and easy. The backing is a beige flannel and warm and natural batting that made use of a lot of my scraps. I was able to cut about 8 layers of flannel and batting at once, so this was a quick project.

This is a good way to use up home dec. fabrics! It made a nice lap sized quilt and I have enough fabric left over to probably make another one, the same size...

    Here's the booklet of samples

Thanks for the idea...I make a bunch of quilts for the animal shelter in Dec....all the little critters deserve a Christmas Quilt...

I have a ton of home dec samples, so this might do the trick.
