Paper Pieced MAriner's Compass Workshop
#1
Here is a picture of the participants from my quilt guild at the workshop I presented today. The goal for the day was to get their compasses all set into their setting square. They all did! I was so proud of them. Our guild is small - 34-36. This was a really good turnout for us! Some of our members live over in Texas and others live 45 miles south of here, so the numbers at these types of adventures isn't high, but we still have fun & they learned. For most of these ladies - it was their first experience in paper piecing!

Wow! What beautiful compasses. I so wish I lived near you so that I could take one of your classes. By the way, I love what you do with those you teach and work with in the penal system.I do admire you.

Yeah, I'm really blessed in so many ways. These gals are great. I am still amazed that they ALL got their centers set in. The lady in the center of the front row is from Lithuiana. She has only been quilting for a few months! Just joined our guild on the 9th -last week. She is so sweet and so industrious. I showed them how to trim to prepare to add the 3rd piece. Armed with that info, she plunged ahead and before you knew it, she had finished all 8 of her wedges! Wow! There is not going to be anything to stop her.
