I started to post this in the WIP photos thread, but then decided to start it as a new thread so I can follow it all the way thru. This is a quilt for my sister, who was recently diagnosed with stomach cancer and starts treatment tomorrow. The surgery went well and the outlook is very hopeful for her.
I am using only my stash and scraps for this quilt as we are frugal people and she will appreciate that. The colors are red, white and blue which are her favorites. And yellow, for hope and sunshine!

    first you take some scraps

then you sew a bunch together

cut them apart and press them

then ya do it all again

    make some blocks and squares

then make some more blocks and squares..

Coming next, playing with the little pieces. I'm off to the sewing machine to do that now!! What fun.

Glad to hear your sister will do well. Your quilt is going to be beautiful. My avatar is the one I made for my sister when she had surgery for cancer. Sometimes we just need to keep ourselves busy.

I love scrap quilts and yours is going to be outstanding. Someone once asked me why I buy yardage, then cut it all up, just to sew it all back together! I told him thats how you quilt. He just didn't get it. But we do and thats all that matters.
