I missed something along the way. What is the measurement (at the end) from the fold to the cut line where you said marking cut from fold line. Thanks for the great tute with pictures, the end part is where I always run into problems.

I learned a few months ago the technique of using the width of the binding to "close off" at the end. I can't tell you how much easier this is than any other technique I have tried in the past.
Your explaining the ends "right over left" will help me out a lot as I always get confused as to how to put them together.

Use whatever width overlap it is your binding width is. Great technique to learn. Quick and easy.

The measurement from the fold equals the width of your binding. If you cut your binding 3 inches, then measure from the fold out 3 inches and that is your cut. Mark it and pick it up to cut.

I cut my binding from selvage to selvage. I have heard that bias binding uses less fabric, but don't know for sure.

If you are short one fabric for binding, add a second fabric, alternate it with your orginal fabric, this can give a sutle change if your fabrics are close to each other.
