I started one of these almost thirty years ago. Our local church ladies group, The Friendship Club, all donated me hankies and I made about 8 signature blocks. Those dear ladies are all now gone and I'm now inspired to get out those other 12 to finish....thanks for the inspiration. Better late than never, I hope.

I am so glad you showed us how to do that! I have been saving all my mom's older hankies with thoughts of using them in a quilt or two. This is perfect!

    Thank you! Thank you!

I have absolutely no hankies, but the block is so nice that I may go off and try to find some, or attempt to make it from squares of pretty fabric (finding a good way to finish the edges).

Thank you for a truly lovely idea!

retta97 - I am glad it will help you. You should check out how Fabric Whisperer is doing a quilt with the Butterfly hankies. She has posted here. :-)

I have thought about trying it with fabric squares & doing the edges with one of the fancy stitches on my machine.
I have one that does a scalloped edge. May try it later this year. :-D
