I used a pattern very similar a while back from one of Fon's & Porters magazines. Made 4 matching crib sheets to go with an oversized crib quilt and matching burpies

I never had any children, so I don't know about a crib mattress size. Are all crib mattress the same size? I would like to made some crib sheets for a friend's daughter.

What a great idea. Not sure my DIL would appreciate but I can't wait to try it for my house. I used to love sewing for my son when he was little. Gram's house should be different LOL

    Thank you!

Yes, they are the same unless it was specially made to fit a custom made bed. Use really soft fabric so it won't irrate the baby's skin. And tell the Mom how the fabric needs to be washed.

What a special gift! I always enjoy making something tailored to a nursery theme.

Me too! My children and many of my peers children hand homemade sheets because fabric was cheap and I was still a stay at home mom. I made piles of them. It was nice to see I had been doing it right all along! Tee-Hee.
